Has Your iPod Been Corrupted? Are You Running Microsoft Windows Vista on Your Computer? If You Answered Yes to Both Questions, We Have a Solution for You. If your iPod is corrupt, follow these steps to fix it: 1. Plug your iPod to your computer 2. Wait until iTunes screen displays 3. Go to Summary Panel on iTunes 4. Click Restore Your iPod should be restored to working condition. Here are some details into the bug and how to avoid corrupting your iPod again. Apple released iTunes 7.1 to fix a bunch of problems that its service had with Vista. Although this release did a lot of good, it also introduced one bad bug. When your iPod is plugged into your computer, the normal procedure to unplug is to: 1. Click on the icon in the lower right corner of your computer screen that denotes a “plugged-in” device 2. Select “Safely Remove iPod” 3. When the prompt tells you to, unplug your iPod from its tray The problem lies in following these steps that normally would allow you to remove a component without any issues. iPods can get corrupted by using this function if you are running both Vista and iTunes 7.1 on your computer. To avoid corrupting your iPod again, do not try to “safely remove” your iPod. You can just unplug it from your computer when it is done syncing to iTunes. As long as you unplug it without excessive force, you should be able to use your iPod, iTunes 7.1, and Vista together in harmony. |
